NFT mania pumps September revenue for Ethereum miners.

Transaction fees constituted 66% of mining rewards over September, an all time high in percentage terms for the network. Fees continue to make up a larger portion of mining revenue for two reasons.

Bitcoin miners earned $1.3 billion in revenue from September.

Bitcoin mining difficulty increased 3.16% last Tuesday, marking its fifth consecutive increase and the longest streak of upward adjustments since Feb. 2020. Streaks of five or more upward adjustments have become less frequent over the past several years.
